If you are looking for an alternative solution to dentures, then dental implants may be the right choice for you. If you are missing all of your teeth in either your upper or lower jaw, or both jaws, dental implants can support two solutions:
A full bridge can be attached to several dental implants
A removable prosthesis can be attached to two or more dental implants – the prosthesis stays securely in place, but can be easily removed for cleaning
We know that Dental Implants are the best and most durable solution for damaged or missing natural teeth - and they are proven to be much more long lasting than any other restorative dental treatment available. Therefore, full mouth restoration using Dental Implants is the optimum solution for reconstructing your jaw.
Contact usDue to advancements in Dental Implant technology, one method of replacing a full arch is to do full jaw restoration using just 4 Dental Implants
Replacing your teeth with just four implants can be done with several different methods – one way is attaching a metal bar to the 4 implants that are fixed in the patient's mouth and the removable dentures click into place securely and seamlessly. Alternatively, a fixed bridge can be placed onto the 4 implants.
The final method uses 6 implants being placed into a patient’s mouth to hold a 12-unit bridge. 6 titanium abutments are screwed into the previously placed implants. The bridge is then permanently fixed onto the implants in the patient`s mouth.
The metal bar and screws are made out of titanium, while the abutments are made out of zirconium or titanium. Dentures and bridges are made out of Acrylic in order to achieve a natural looking smile. Your dentist will be able to discuss these options with you to find the best option to help restore your smile.

It’s a great long term investment in improving your quality of life Dental Implants are permanently fixed in place – they won’t fall out
If all of the upper and lower teeth are to be replaced, then it is possible to use an entirely fixed reconstruction which does not need to be removed from the mouth.
Alternatively, at The Priory Dental Practice Leamore we can use a precision retained removable reconstruction which behaves in much the same way as a fixed bridge but enables us to replace bone (in the form of a denture flange) and therefore avoiding the need for bone grafting.
For elderly patients and people who might not be fit for a general anaesthetic, this is often a very satisfactory way of replacing a large number of teeth. Such a reconstruction will require somewhere between four and six dental implants but is is not necessary to replace every tooth with a dental implant.
Dental Implants can be a costly treatment due to the materials used, training needed, and machinery involved in such a complex treatment. However, everyone’s mouth and circumstances are unique and so placing a set cost on a treatment is difficult without first understanding the patient.
Our staff are highly trained and knowledgeable about the latest available techniques and treatments. For an overview of expected costs please see our Fee Guide. Your dentist will provide a detailed personalised treatment plan with your specific costs after your initial consultation.
When all of your teeth are missing, the most common way of replacing such a large number of teeth has, in the past been with conventional dentures . Conventional dentures which can often be uncomfortable and make the wearer feel self-conscious. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth, helping with confidence in smiling and talking.
It may be that you have a large number of failing teeth which need to be extracted and an interim measure of providing a conventional denture may still be required. This will form part of your overall dental implant journey. The immediate denture, which is placed at the time of teeth extraction will provide information on where the dental implants need to be placed and also give us an idea of how the final restoration might look.
